Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a directive therapy through which a therapist helps patients to develop effective ways of coping with a range of problems, including depression, anxiety and panic disorders. Cognitive behavioral therapy is based on the idea that the person is having difficulties in their life because of faulty thinking and behaviors. The therapist helps you identify and change those negative thought patterns and behaviors that are wreaking havoc on your well-being and manifest in self-criticism and guilt. You learn techniques to help you to recognize and accept events that are beyond your control and develop practical, more productive ways to respond to distressing or anxiety-provoking situations or feelings.
